Exploring Google for the Classroom

Google Sketch would be a wonderful tool in a math class when studying surface area. Students would be able to draw their own shapes and create math problems. Google earth is a great tool to use when teaching students about lands marks. Students will find it fascinating to locate their address on a virtual map. There were several google tools to choose from, but I found google images interesting.Pictures from students work can be displayed on google image. English-http://www.googlelittrips.org website was my favorite. I love the way students are able to create a trip from various literature work and find that area on google earth. This site would be great when writing and publishing literature work.

Introducing iPods into Special Education

With full inclusion in place, effective communication plays a major role in reaching all students. While watchig this video, I found it interesting how students could read sentences and select their answers while using the ipods.

Edutopia Handout/VoiceThread.com

I found voicethread.com to be very rewarding not only to teachers, but to students as well. Students are able to publish their work online and offer reviews to each other. A plus is that emails aren't required. The teachers have to add the student to his or her class in order for them to be apart of the network. Privacy is respected because the student's first name only appears on the first page. With voicethread, students can introduce themselves with a brief introduction using photos if their from another state or country on the first day of school instead of doing the basic write a few sentences about yourself and read it to the class. Students can learn about each other through the class site.
